Positive Outlook on catching secures award in June 2006
The Humane Slaughter Association (HSA)presented its new award-Welfare of catching-to Taylors Poultry Services from Nottinghamshire at an event in London last month. HSA gave the award to the family run company because of ite "positive outlook on catching". Steve Lister of Crowshall Veterinary Services, who presented the award, said: "They've not jumped on the bandwagon, but built it and kept it on the road". As well as the plaque,the company received £1000 to continue their welfare initiatives. Consultant manager Susan Groocock said: "We are very honoured and very proud. It means a lot to the catchers because they can see their work is worthwhile".
